Yes, sure wish I had bought dell stock rather than a dell computer 6 years ago.

Another Interesting Post on Yahoo board showing a presentation slide about NITE vs. ECN's:

zing.com

Check it out... It raises some good points

NITE will be at Merrill's banking conference this Wednesday, I believe. This is just the sort of subject matter you might expect NITE to present. Whether or not this presentation slide is authentic (it was posted at "Zing.com" so it could be an anonymous place for NITE or somebody else to leak info), it raises some valid points.

Other random comments:

1. Since the forthcoming FORTUNE MAGAZINE article mentions that NITE could eventually be bought out by Merrill, we should question WHEN (if at all) that would be likely to happen. I would say if it were to happen (which I do not want, BTW), it would be well-timed for MERRILL to buy NITE BEFORE Merrill launches its own web trading. And, Merrill's on-line trading is slated to start in Q4 - which is right around the corner.

2. In support of the foregoing supposition, note that there has been a CONSPICUOUS ABSENCE of NITE insider BUYS in the recent few weeks (during which time, NITE could be in play). Sure, all the shorts would have you believe that insiders haven't bought NITE shares SPECIFICALLY because NITE is going to tank. But I don't buy that line.

Rather, I have such confidence in NITE's valuation, management, business model that the only reason NITE's own insiders have NOT bought NITE during this irrational "fire sale" is simple: THEY CAN'T! ... SOMETHING'S UP.

Silence sometimes speaks louder than words.

P.S. Gary: Excellent coverage in the WSJ for you. Pretty much echos what you've been saying here about former days day-trading and now position trading. Did you tell 'em where you "hang out" on the message boards (e.g. here on the NITE board)? That would bring a few hundred thousand hits over here.
