zsteve,
The spot is usually reference to a transaction either a buy or an offer to sell, and the qty can vary all over the place and its mostly to second tier OEMs or third tier. Since DRAM is not listed on the commodity exchange its hard to say what exact price the parts are worth or what price the next deal will be. Purely supply and demand and hard to predict due to so many variables.
AICE is a bit closer to spot, where Smithweb is almost retail(my comparison in the past). So try www.aice.com.
Also each region will vary, right now, the US is higher the last time I compared them.

I wonder how far pricing will go, my hope is it would have stabilized by now. Going up too fast is not healthy.
Any comments on MU direction?
Good luck./
