Hi, Lalit, and all: Well, I'm back! In all my irrascible splendor and glory. I've been dug in and disconnected for about 5 months now, as I put together the last piece of my Y2K planning...locating and filing claims on a goldmine, a real live, living and breathing, not-worked-since-the-late-1800s- 140A parcel of my own, high in the Eastern Oregon Mountains.
As turned out, finding it and getting the claims filed, approved, issued, and the assessment work done and filed before 8/31 turned out to be easier than robbing a bank!<vbg> The Good Lord has blessed me with a new, safe place to live and operate as me and my family await, in particular, the financial chaos surrounding 12/31/99 midnight, as the public becomes painfully aware their electronic debits and credits are backed by nothing but hot air and empty FDIC slush funds.
In doing so, I have run across an absolute delightful new set of acquaintances, Pat and Roy Valentine of Huntington Oregon, a good spitting distance away from my setup. My claims involve both hardrock and placer mining on my sprawling acreage. I know SQUAT about hardrock mining except as I have picked up information over the years as a speculator investor in both Canadian Penny Stocks as well as playing the XAU successfully and ABX in particular via both stock purchases and various buy/write options over the years.
Then Roy and Pat crossed my path, and they are BIG into exchanging information, guidance, and experience, for services: they were ready to leverage their favorable Interstate Highway Exit access to their mine for internet website advertising. In exchange, they've showed me the place to start with the hardrock potential as well as location of still usable but idle mining equipment on my place in for my website building skillset, a offer I obviously jumped at. Here's the result: oregontrail.net!~ortrailrv
<snip> Roy, "Old Sweetheart" and wife, Pat now want to share their years of profitable hardrock as well as placer gold mining experiences with the public. Hundreds daily whiz by their Lookout Mtn, I-84, Oregon Exit 338 gold mine. Illegally lining I-84 with cars and semi's, people often watch mesmerized while Roy runs the big trommel. N O W Roy and Pat are the FIRST GOLD MINING PROFESSIONALS on any continent to harness the power of the internet and combine it with an actual commercial mining operation! Dubbing it "Operation Virtual Mining," miners' Valentine are trendsetters in the new millenium! They are first to offer anywhere on the 'net, to any consumer in the world, ACTUAL PHYSICALLY MINED GOLD, straight from the earth to the retail buyer! This new breed of cyber-goldbuyer can now cut out the middleman and buy directly from the commercial goldmine operators' Valentine.
Roy and Pat are creating this ultimate in "sweetheart deals", by making it possible for people they have never met, to buy gold direct from the mine, for the new millenium and beyond! For a modest grubstake, per trommel shift share, (see website for details: oregontrail.net ) (limited to 24 shares per 3 hour gold trommel shift) "Old Sweetheart" and Pat will mine real gold for any cyber-citizen whether or not they are able to actually come onsite to watch the big trommel operate. For each grubstake , each BLUE BUCKET VIRTUAL MINER can buy a single gold split, up to and including purchasing all 24 splits of a single 3 hr GOLD trommel shift, in this ongoing, commercial Blue Bucket Gold Diggings® mining operation.
And that is NOT all: they are having a big onsite Gold Trommel Run and inviting both public and the regional and national press, OCT 8-11,1999, over Columbus Day Federal Holiday Weekend. COME JOIN US and MEET O/49r while you are there if you like. I wouldn't miss it for the world. I've never run a trommel before and this is MY big chance, so I was the first to sign up for this opportunity!!! Especially after they invited me to supper and then showed me the TV Video Tape, shown on the 6:00 NEWS a few years back on Portland OR KATU Portland's (ABC Affiliate).
Watching Roy at work on that big trommel, and then pouring that glittering 15 oz pile of pile of gold nuggets through the funnel and into a bottle, right there in living color on that video tape, convinced me this "Old Sweetheart" was the real deal, and I had stumbled across a goldmining 'coach' for my new operation. <snip>
For a biography of Roy Valentine, photos of the big trommel in operation, and details about how to contact the Valentines to learn more about trommels, or virtual mining, commercial mining, the best way to build anything mining related from a rocker box to a 50TonPerDay ballmill, or whatever, please e*mail them at: ortrailrv@oregontrail.net for a prompt answer from a real, hands on, old miner in the flesh...a TRUE been there/done that kind of miner for over 37 years. Tell them, O/49r sent you!
If you like, Lalit, I'll outline in my next post why I felt it important "to get a goldmine or two" as the final strategic piece of my Y2K planning preparation.
Good to talk to be posting again, my friends. I've still got opinions on the gold market, GATA, Central Bankers, Alan Greenspan, the prognostications of Arch Crawford and CNBC's Ron Insana baring his pate on international TV...again.(grin) So, fire away!
O/49r is back in the SI Posting Game! Let the good times roll! And let the price fall to $195 like I've been forecasting. I'm now ready to catch the falling knife, trrrrrrust me! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAW! Ballsy ain't I???-with gold up about $4 this am due to the trade report(VVBG) |
