I have no clue. I have not looked into the whole thing, but what it appears to be is a parent company buying up and taking over smaller competitors. TNTO is evidently on the acquisition trail. MB Trading, ARCA, TNTO, South West Clearing, Executioner, and probably others. Often times forcing name changes on franchisees or changing their agreements voids franchise or licensing agreements so while they may have acquired these companies, they may be unable to change the components to a common "look and feel". Once everyone is happy, often the acquiring company offers "new" licenses and/or franchise agreements to the acquired. Just a guess. Have no real idea, but that would make sense to me.

Scan (or whoever you are),

Thanks for letting me know about the deceitfulness of MB Trading and Terra Nova personnel--

<< That is an outright lie. Southwest Securities is a giant,
independent brokerage firm that is traded on the New York Stock
Exchange (NYSE) as symbol SWS. All MB Trading and Terra
Nova Trading does is clear their trades through Southwest
Securities, because neither firm (Terra Nova, MB Trading nor
any other Terra Nova branch) is a member of the New York Stock
Exchange, Chicago Board Options Exchange and other exchanges.
How is Terra Nova Trading going to clear its trades if it is not a
member of the NYSE. They have to do them through a member
firm that is, and the member firm they chose to do so with is
Southwest Securities. For either MB Trading or Terra Nova to
say that they "own Southwest Securities" is the biggest lie I have
ever heard in my 25 years around the brokerage game.>> (PM)

I guess YOU would know. Thanks for your less than FULL DISCLOSURE as to your interest in Terra Nova, MB Trading and Executioner discussion which I assumed was innocent. I guess I'm the only one on this thread that doesn't know about your personal interest in the matter. Frankly, I couldn't care less who owns who, who srewed over who, or anything else related to the matter.

I just know that YOU made me feel like a chump by being so naive as to be sucked into this conflict you may have with your ex-partners. It makes me wonder about the ethics of the whole bunch of you, however. I guess that is why so many SI posters feel compelled to hide behind aliases. I guess I am just so naive as to use my real name as I have nothing to hide.

In the future, if you have something to say to me, please feel free to do so directly. Even if it is not pleasant. I asure you, I can handle it.

I personally like Penson as a clearing agent much better. I've done business with both, and the service I've received at Penson is way above Southwest. That's why I am with Penson.
