Andre, regarding prudent investing and putting most of your eggs in one basket, it all depends on the basket. I would never put most of my stock play money on a high P/E stock, because if the market tanks, high p/e stocks will almost certainly tank with it. But COMS is so beat down that downside risk is minimal. I can see COMS doubling or even tripling over the next year, easily. I can't see it going much below $20, no matter what the market does (short of a new great depression). So, personally, I feel quite comfortable with most of my stock play money in COMS.

Andre, diversity is for those who are ignorant and unsure of their actions. With regard to 3Com I am categorically certain of my actions.

I do not find the word cogitation as being esoteric, so for that matter I suggest you question your ego and maybe you will find the answer to why you find the word to be pompous.

Hypocrital! Ha...

Rather than retort with a Pathian shot I suggest you elaborate where I have been hypocritical. I have been long with 3Com since March of 1999. You may do your due diligence and corroborate what I have stated.

from cramer's yahoo chat on 9/9/99...

"lianatch asks: Jim, is there a chance 3COM is
currently being played not only on the takeover
rumors, but also on the quarter results due out in a
couple of weeks? It's about time these guys did
something right.

Creme_Delacramer: I think you are right that it is
a combination of them. I still would rather own
Cisco"
