GREAT POST BEARCUB !!!!!
>>JLT's purloined essay was quite pitiful in one sense. What used to be common sense is
now considered crackpot or extremist. This upside down, cockeyed sense of individual
and community responsibility, will become righted in about 100 days.<<

>> please do NOT dishonor those of us who have diligently tried to get you to take off your rosey glasses. don't resign yourself to "nobely co-suffer" with the less informed, the panic stricken.

if i were to witness such a sanctimonious display from you at that point in time, i would have to confess to being torn between the urge to throttle you, or at least would just plain urp, first. <<

Hey, bear. Take it easy on Karen. It's not as though she doesn't have a Plan B. She's coming to my house, remember? With her mango pickles <g>

Bearcub, I though you and I had some history and we understood our differences. I haven't changed my stripes and taken up an "ignorance is bliss perspective." I still think anything from a 2 to an 8 or even more is possible as I've said several times before.

And I've argued before that the greatest risk of all is panic. This is not a new revelation. I'll even cite you my little essay from August 21. beta.siliconinvestor.com

I am neither cavalier nor hard hearted. I simply believe that at this point in time the least damage will be done by advising people to follow the official recommendation to prepare for a snowstorm, earthquake, or hurricane and not to panic.

I respect your beliefs about what will happen and the strength of those beliefs. What troubles me is this kind of talk: "when there were ALL ALONG!!!!- LIFE SAVING choices available to the uninformed/unprepared, from those self-sam, sanctimonious harlots and johns who willfully kept others ignorant by their lack of personal or community sense of leadership." That's all water over the dam. The question is what is to be done now, 100 days prior to the event.

For the third time I challenge you or anyone else who still thinks the alarm should be officially sounded to either propose a responsible approach to doing so or give it up. This is a quote from my second post about this.

>>Who in the Federal government would you have communicate with the people, in what forum, and what would be the message? Since they and we have such poor information about what will happen, which "truth" would you have them communicate?

What would you have them do that they're not doing?
Would you have them do it even if they don't have the authority to do so?
Would you have them do it even if there's no national consensus to do so?<><
