Since this is on the options thread I thought I could throw this one out there. I have used it a few times now and been successful, although not in the Big Kahuna kind of way. When you expect a very large move in a stock (such as the internets) but know that move could go either way (like the internets), buy calls about $10 out of the money and puts about $10 out of the money. If the stock moves $20 in one direction within the next 2 - 3 weeks (which they have a high probability of doing) you will make a nice profit and gain a free option for use if the stock reverses direction before expiration. The following is a list of the most volitile that I have found. DCLK, VRSN, INKT, HLIT, HIFN, EBAY, QCOM (maybe not anymore, but prior to the earnings warning it worked well) and YHOO. AMZN also fit in the list but I'm not sure if it will still work since the split

Brad,

My semi index just keeps going and going... why shouldn't the nutz?

One last hurrah before the October reality???

Bill

PS Wanmore: that is the volatility play I have been using successfully for many months now... but I pick the stocks based on an Expert I have with my MetaStock 6.5 package...
