Fane,

I am a straight forward type of person. I call it like I see it. I'm often wrong. Maybe I'm wrong here. If I am, I sincerely apologize. Here is what got the burr under my saddle so to speak:

Last week I posted looking for help in finding a replacement direct access firm to replaced AB Watley (which seems to have grown too fast and their service is suffering) I was referred by many helpful thread participants that I should look into MB Trading. I remembered their name because they had been my second choice when I chose to go with Watley. I called them and spoke to two people there. In so doing I asked them extensively about their access to the various ECN's and particularly to ARCA (Archipelligo). I was told that I would have access to ARCA with no "up charge" because TNTO (their owners) owned ARCA. I have no idea if that is true or not. Frankly I don't care (other than I don't like to deal with liars). I asked who was their clearing firm and they told me it was South West Securities (who they represented as being owned by the same parent corporation Terra Nova). I specifically asked them, "then you guys are self clearing, correct?" to which they responded YES. I have no idea if any of that information is correct. At the present I have resolved my issues with Watley so I have not pursued them any further.

That is the history... this is what irked me: After my wild guess as to the relationship between the companies (responding to your first post) I became aware of the fact that you were "playing me", and obviously knew much more about the whole relationship than what you had indicated in your post to me. If you wanted to tell me that you knew that I had been lied to by some unethical brokerage firm, why didn't you just tell me (via PM or public post)? I don't like to be patronized, particularly in public. You have yet to indicate to me that you have a previous relationship with Terra Nova (as a principal) and that your relationship currently is shall we say somewhat less than amicable. Why not just tell the truth, the whole truth, straight up. Then I wouldn't have wasted a lot of time getting in the middle of your personal fight with them.

Fane, I don't know you at all. You are probably a great guy. I am truly sorry if I caused you any unwarranted embarrassment or ill will on this thread. I'm new here, and after all, who am I? However, I truly do not like being patronized or unwittingly used to promote someone else's personal vendetta. I am sorry if I overreacted. Matt

I'm not a daytrader but would like to know why you would use terranova trading when other firms such as Datek are cheaper. What advantages does Terra Nova offer for the greater price?
