ZO,

As you know, I have been long CSCO for over 4 years now. The stock has been very well for me. This company is incredible on many fronts. Highlights are as follows:

- $ 1 billion a month on-line sales (bigger than Dell)
- Growing at 45% y/y, much faster than LU and NT
- $ 10 Billion in cash on hand, 5 times LU and 8 times NT's cash
- IP king, not just in enterprise
- Gross margins of 65%, higher than LU and NT by far
- 5th largest market cap in the world, behind MSFT,GE,IBM and INTEL

Now this success has happened with admittedly slow penetration in the carrier space. As a shareholder, I view this as upside. There's a lot more to CSCO than second rate ATM products. If they can execute on their optical strategy (Cerent and Monterey acquisitions) and if they can deliver the 8850 45gig ATM switch, they'll do well in the carrier space this year. They won't be number 1, but this is all incremental revenue for CSCO.

I think CSCO deserves a little more respect than what it's been awarded on this thread recently. I have restrained from answering the bashing, contenting myself on seeing the stock surge past $70. But this is the last I'll say about CSCO.

Cheers,

peppe

ZO, RE: "Even B.Clinton can not keep up witch J.Chambers in changing his mind.J.Chambers has not vision. He basically is trying to look at trend and follow up.
The question is for how long, specially that some competitors are not going to make mistake of the past, to help CSCO to achived his goals"

... great post. brian
