zsteve, the other thing he didn't discuss was the value of the play before expiration (ie, time values included). sounds like a very risky strategy to me.

if the stock drops $10 in a day to $82, one loses on the stock, the calls and the puts. it is not accurate to say the onlky way you lose is if the stock trades below $57. jan 2002 is a loooong way away.
