Mani,

Re: :tads analsysis"

Well a couple of points,

K7 has been available in UK at least at Dixons for a while.
They are largest UK high street retailer.

And systems are available in Germany, Japan, Canada etc.

And in fact I just checked CPQ's web site they offer the AThlon 600 only.

IBM direct offers the 600 and 650 under APtiva S.

Interesting that these guys are not even offering the 500/550 for Internet customers.

Seem like volumes should be reasonable as Cybermax as well a few other tier two's have them as well.

So volumes are still consistent with 200-300K units.

And 1M for Q4 still looks viable IMHO subject to MB's.

regards,

Kash J.

RE <<<Your analysis does not include the direct sales of Athlon from IBM and Compaq, does it?>>>

Realistically, how many direct sales do you think either IBM or CPQ will make before the end of the year? Both went to direct sales only recently with CPQ again only in the last two weeks reducing the numbers of retailers who sell for them (and I am not sure when that goes into effect). I think direct sales may be a bigger factor in Q1 of next year.
