Other than occasional slowness of their web site and phone answering typical signs of heavy business traffic, I have actually felt their improved services: nicer attitude from service representatives (sound younger and sweeter), quicker response to complaints and requests. They have twice generously credited charges related to our accidently mishandling our accounts after we explained to them. Not as bad as it seems at all. Online billing seems good too.

Obviously, I'm not alone in disappointment with NTBK as a customer. Their server is glacial, and two weeks after mailing in my initial deposit I still haven't gotten my checks. I threatened to sic the GA. banking authorities and the FDIC on them to limit any more deposits until they get their infrastructure working. My one telephone call to them was without delays though.

If the thread feels like they have the management to remedy their service problems, this could be a good long term investment.

Especially if they can find a way to have free and convenient ATM transactions across the country, say in front of Walmarts, etc.
