John: While I consider the discussion of "selling off" the handset division moot, since there is no sign that the powers that be - Dr J et al - have any such intention, and they after all manage the company, I will take the bait on TXN.

As a long term TXN stockholder I suggest that the analogy of the Q without a handset division and TXN now without its primary restructuring to concentrate on DSPs is not apt.

TXN got rid of its distractions to concentrate on the primary business of DSPs but the dumping did not include any of its software activities related to DSP or its manufacturing activities related to DSP or its related activities in xDSL or .......

As long as the Q concentrates on CDMA, that is the analogy.
