06:56 ET Overseas Markets : --London-- S&P Sep futures are 11.4 pts above fair value at 1354.1 indicating a 90-95 tick higher open on the Dow. In the Far East the Nikkei ended up 198 pts at 17,909 but the Hang Seng was barely changed at 13,860. Nikkei gains were posted on continued follow through from last week's Q2 GDP inspired gains along with the improved performance of the US Nasdaq. The Korean Kospi rose 19 pts or 2% to 980.9 with exporters leading the way after the yen surged to a major new highs versus the dollar (106.45) and euro (110.06). The Indonesian composite rose 1.2% following the government's acceptance of an international peacekeeping force in E. Timor. In Europe the main stock indices are lower with the FTSE 100 down 5.7 pts at 6185 and the DAX down 22.8 pts at 5461.5. The euro, and European bonds, fell to a new 2-month low vs the dollar at 1.0302 after the incumbent German SPD lost another seat in state regional elections over the week/end. T-bonds fell on the continued plight of dollar yen and are now down 10/32 to yield 6.063%.
