Re; HP Tech support, I also had a problem with their 5HP scanner. The Canadian Techs said "Too bad!!'my warranty had expired by two weeks. I wrote directly to head office. I not only got a response back within 24 hours, they even sent me a new scanner HP 6200 for free, even paid the shipping. Needless to say I am more than pleased with HP. I also have a 5L printer and a 690c Deskjet and no problems with either. Must say again , that this is still one of the best threads on SI---laura
