hi all...i read a toronto t.a. newsletter on the weekend and the writer , who is a lifelong veteran investment advisor, very conservative, very sane, suggested we are really are and have been in a bear mkt...the problem is the indices don't reflect it...there was some hint that he felt there was 'intervention' in the futures mkts to keep things afloat...

he felt we were definitely in the frenzy (mania) stage, but it could take days or months to fully play out...

i also thought about the nifty fifty in the seventies...there are two ways to calc someone's losses here...what did people lose in mkt value on the stocks and then, what would they have received in interest for a couple years...i don't remember but i presume rates were pretty good then...sounds like combining the two, one may have lost 70 % from top to bottom...

yikes...

nah, not yikes, i'm hoping for a repeat
