Sorry you're miffed - I was being a bit sarcastic about the LEDs. It is true though, that MRVC lived off of LED component sales for years, and they are known as a bit of a third-class company. Their products (early with flow control but didn't capture market for ENet switches; early 100Mbps then no market share; one of the first with Gbps then fell on their face), their unusually low-end facilities, and their poor financial performance over the past five years have earned them that.

So, they are not in the same league as JNPR... any way you cut it. JNPR is a new silicon valley company, a pure-play on routers which is a "favored son" of the venture community and it's well-healed Corporate backers. MRVC is a comeback for the nth time, trying to be a router company this time. I don't hold stock in or have any relationship with either company, just stating the obvious.
