Dan, I understand what you're saying - by their fruits shall ye know them. True, as a spiritual point. And I'm sure Alan's point was not that any should accept Hitler's statement at face value. Still, Hitler did refer to himself to as a Christian as quoted. So the moral should be: people would be wise not be gullible enough to accept things offered verbally as being spiritually true when there are good reasons to indicate otherwise. But many go by what people say about themselves when they would be better to be more discerning.
