Cabletron Promotes Tom Gleason to Vice President, Americas Sales ROCHESTER, N.H.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 13, 1999--Cabletron Systems (NYSE:CS - news), a premier provider of enterprise and service provider networking solutions, today announced the appointment of Tom Gleason as vice president of sales for the Americas. The company also announced that Carl Boisvert, the company's previous head of sales, is leaving to pursue other opportunities. ''Carl Boisvert has made important contributions to Cabletron, including bringing structure to our sales organization that will serve us well as we expand our leadership in key markets,'' said Piyush Patel, Cabletron's president, CEO and chairman. Tom's charter is to further expand on the success of our existing sales model.'' Gleason is a nine-year Cabletron veteran. In his most recent position with Cabletron, Gleason was Regional Vice President for North Central, Cabletron's largest sales region in the United States. He has held a number of sales management positions within the company, including regional sales management positions responsible for the Midwest and Canada. In addition, he served as director of European sales operations for three years, where he was instrumental in migrating Cabletron's European operations to an indirect sales model. Prior to joining Cabletron, Gleason work for IBM for four and a half years involved in network systems and telecommunications equipment.
