I too am quite surprised to see Lindy and Downsouth sell QCOM. What happened to the Gorilla Game philosophy? Has anything fundamentally changed with this company that I don't know about? I always thought that we should forget about the short term blips and concern ourselves about the long term prospects about the company. Oh well, I hope you guys can time the market better than I ever was able to.

DownSouth: Re: "we can learn some valuable lessons..."

Yes, you're right. Two things I've learned so far.
I bought into Leaps at the stock's high. Normally I wouldn't have bought at such an elevated price and pe but I was swayed by all the positive talk. My own responsibility completely, of course, but I won't do that again.

Secondly, I don't see any difference between the reaction of most of the GG'ers, and of ordinary folks who don't subscribe to the GG theory but who dump a stock that's losing. In other words, theory is fine and discussion is entertaining when you're winning, but when the stock heads south like this morning - well...
I guess that is why Lindybill is a millionaire and I am not!

Good for you for being quick enough to protect your money.

I, too, sold Q. I had 50% of my holdings on margin and Q is very vulnerable to rumors, etc. If it tanks over the next week or so I'll buy back in. Long term it still looks great.

On the other hand there are many alternatives....
