Greg - No knock, but if you always wait till you have all the news, you should get a mutual fund. Great trades occur when you perceive that a great company has been unfairly trashed. For my part, I'm lowering my exposure by a third...because I'm worried that I may be too exposed.

Why make a bet without having the facts?

I just made a cold-blooded decision to try to time a possible drop. My accounts are all tax-protected, so all it costs me is commission to sell and buy back in.

I have not changed my long term outlook on Q. I just feel that possible negative news
will drop this stock 20 to 30 more points, so why not try to pick up money on the drop?
If I am wrong, at least I have protected capital.

With my record on timing, this probably means it is a good time to buy!

All,

Right , we have no news of substance.

The 50 day moving avg has been broken, and that is not good, sorry for the TA here. Usually the ticker tells the tale long before the news comes out.....you cannot hide the fact that something is wrong here!

We will see some news....and it will not be positive. Will it be REAL bad?? We don't know, but we can assume it is not great, or we would not be seeing this fall. It could just be BS, and someone playing with the stock. That is possible.

A lot of us own a ton of the Q, and this is not fun. Lets not get too carried away here about buying or selling, but caution is called for. Watch it, and be ready one way or the other. Protect your profits if need be.

Sorry about this happening. I love the Q and all of the money it has made, and I find it hard that it is all over. It may not be, and all may be ok in the end.

Has anyone contacted the Q? I am sure they would not say much, but it is a thought.

Come on Q!!!!
John

To All: I warned that QCOM from a technical view point (only) was preparing for a major retrace approx three weeks ago. I posted several charts showing the formations and indicators that signaled this, along with SRLs and SRPs.

If enough of you are interested I will take the time to upload updated charts and link them with a critique.

SRLs - Support/Resistance Lines
SRPs - Support/Resistance Price Action Areas

Regards,
LG

Greg,

Although I trade a lot, almost all the money i've made has been from long term investments. At 150ish, qcom is a good price and I have the money to invest. It is not a gamble if I see it over 300 in a few years for sure. I do understand the trading mentality that worries it will go to 100. 50% retracements are normal in fast growers. It would be horrible but I'll survive. The Jan calls I bought this am might even come back if this is temporary.

All the best.
