Just a couple of comments from a fundamental perspective……This quarter Qualcomm is supposed to be on track to ship 13m ASIC's. This represents 18% sequential growth from last quarter. The first two quarters of '99 had 5.5m and 5.1m new subs respectively. The data coming out of Korea and Japan shows that their should be around 4m new subs from just these two countries during the current quarter. Taking a very conservative estimate on the rest of the world and I arrive at something like 6.5m new subs for this quarter. The 4th calendar quarter traditionally represents about 40% of the total cell phones sales for the year. I don't think is a stretch to consider that Qualcomm will make Maurice's goal of 53m total subs which would involve 13m new subs next quarter.

If you bought Qualcomm from a momentum perspective, it might be time to bail. However if you bought it looking at the fundamentals, nothing has changed.

Rules? I love my rules, especially when I don't follow them and I make money. LWIN broke MAJOR support yesterday. I was going to sell this morning. I didn't. Up 6 now.

All this banter about rumors, rules, WTO, chips, no shows. I can't make sense of any of it. Yeah, the market usually knows something before the rest of us do...but...
Remember Q in April...the traders lost out on 50 points.
LWIN yesterday...traders lost out on 6 points today.

I ignored the technicals when HS dropped around the first of the year and that was a bad move...they lied.
Does ANYONE think the Q is lying? I don't think so. Are all the data points about CDMA expansion wrong? I don't think so. Can we go on the sidelines now and WAIT for the right time to re-enter? When is that? Good luck to all of you, whatever your strategy is...but before you do ANYTHING...

Think about why you bought Q in the first place. If you did for quick bucks and use charts, get out. If you bought on the fundamental story, buy more.

I'm still expecting excellent news on Wednesday. Why? The market is saying it will be bad, right? They said the same damn thing in April.
