For years I "timed" my purchases and sales of what are now called the gorilla stocks with very respectable results. But in hindsight, I missed out the major multiple returns of buy and holders, because the stocks always recovered and blew back past my sale prices while I waited for the correction that never came to reenter. Now I just ask myself whether I think the stock will be substantially higher or lower in the next 18 months. That got me through the October decline last year and will get me through the Q decline now. I look at my additional purchases last October as icing on the cake. My additional purchases of Q now will look great in 18 months.
