>>I mention this for whatever value it might have.

Bob, I try to find value in every thing. It might serve to inform us who is behind some of those 10K trades I saw last Thursday or Friday.

Again, if that's worth much.

Interesting, this is an excerpt of SSB's last report (dated August 12, 1999):

--SUMMARY:--CheckFree Holdings Corporation--Electronic Commerce
* 4Q99 revenue was $70.8m. EC unit revenues were in line with our
expectations.
* CKFR reported adjusted net income $2.8m or $0.05/share, $0.01 greater
than our estimate.
* Operating margins were 0% in the quarter, down from 4% in 3Q99.
* Subscribers grew 6% to nearly 3 million.
* We maintain our 3H rating and our $20 price target.
* The near-term catalyst will be success at Yahoo! JV.

I can't help but wonder if they have:
1) changed their minds
2) have customers buying the stock, ignoring their analysts target of $20.00
3) or if the analyst report is somewhat biased do to the fact that SSB is owned by Citi, a competitor of CKFR.

Just some random thoughts?

Capt T.

It is good value. I just know the traders at Cantor and they are excellent. My observations is that others within the community sometimes peg off their quotes.

Nonetheless, thank you for the information. It is good to see that SmithBarney is getting off the stick.
