Mike, I leg into most positions in my income portfolios, but no one position is that important. So, I like the idea if you aren't legging a single big bet.

The only point I would make about a big bet is that if you know which stocks are going to go up, why not just buy calls all the time? And if you don't know what stocks are going up, then you won't be successful legging in.

However, you should note that we have been in a manic bull market. The way the market treats puts is more related to the fact that the bubble is going strong. They sure didn't shove any puts up in price last summer. <g>
