They didn't teach evolution in your school either?

1. Humans are apes!
2. Humans are also primates (as are Orangs, Gorillas and Chimps)
3. Current thinking is that several (name a figure between 4 and 10) million years ago, the primate population started to diversify, some branches were successful, some weren't. There were certainly more than two populations.
4. Humans share 99% genes with Bonobos (a sub species of chimpanzee)

No doubt some sick bastard will try to endow Bonobos with 'human' characteristics (or vice versa). Now there is a topic for discussion.

Before you shout impossible, look at what is happening right now
with the genetic 'enhancement' of tomatoes, soy beans and wheat.
