I haven't read anything specifically that would benefit ESIO, but it does seem like a good move today in the face of a generally down market for the sector.

There seems to be some strong firming in DRAM prices which makes one think their customers are going to have a little more spending money.

I was also surprised to see Kemet on Merrill's top 10 list. They seem to think this capacitor maker has seen the worst. We should certainly benefit from strengthening market for capacitors. The last announcement was for a sale to Samsung (?) for capacitor equipment. Also, the last equipment report showed strong growth in the back end. This will be favorable for KLIC and other customers. Finally, they've won their lawsuits and this should give them a stronger hold on their market.

It's important for ESI to get all their business running well. It seems like they should be in better shape than before. Market stronger. Costs in better control. Some new acquisitions perhaps ready to make strong contributions.

So, yes I guess they are trading up due to earnings and perhaps they are catching up on their sector. They seem to have lagged terribly. Too many 100 share days when the market was going great. Lets hope that they have something good to say in the CC and that they start doing a little more PR.

Regards,

Mark

Mark, looks like we got our rise and they beat earnings by 1 cent. ESI also gets some favorable positioning in stocks to watch and they've gotten 2 upgrades to Strong Buy from Buy by Warburg Dillon Read and Prudential. Does that give every analysts a Strong Buy rating now?

Certainly, they've broken way into new highs. Interesting, I was looking at options expiring today that were 3/8's for Sept 50's. Don't seem so expensive today. :)

Anyway, I'd really appreciate anyone's comments from the conference call. Also, lets hope that Don L does not do an interview on CNBC this time. He really was too honest last time warning people to be cautious.

Regards,

Mark
