Charlotte and Vertigo were mentioned by Mark Templeton during his keynote. Charlotte looks like a real winner. From my notes:

Charlotte:
- web program neighborhood
- browser acts as an application portal
- different application access based on user logon
- web program neighborhood developer's kit will be available

Vertigo:
- from a company called Viewsoft that was acquired by Citrix
- promotes delivery of thin apps
- uses standard web based architecture
- will support Java components
