Sorry, Bill, worded it wrong. Guess I should have asked specifically, what do the atheists think happens? (I know there are a number of admitted Atheists on SI.) Evolution DOES exist, I just don't believe the human/ape connection as so many do. People seem to embrace it so eagerly, and it's still unproven, despite the similarities, fossils, etc. If it is proven, I will concede to being wrong, but for now, I refuse to believe that I am an ape, or evolved from it, and yes they taught evolution to me, I just don't believe everything I'm told unless there's concrete proof.

It's not necessary to choose between God or Evidence for evolution. It requires no choice of any kind. The opposite of evolution is not God, it is extinction. If there is life and reproduction then there is evolution whether we choose to believe in it or not.
