GC, have you ever done a road show? I have
multiple cities? I have
with audience over 20? I have
ever been to New York City? I have
ever gone with an entourage? no

how would it have been if they had excellent Boston meeting where nobody really of importance attended, shown up with too little preptime in NYC, then stumbled around with the slides and presentation, possibly fatigued?

no, pick your spots.. the Big Apple is the spot

the mistake was agreeing to the 2bit Cowens meeting
congratulations on not gloating too much, mustve been hard

why assume QCOM mgmt is sitting on bad news? .. had chance to reveal to Everen two weeks ago.. had chance to reveal in Internet Radio Broadcast.. usually bad news is made public in a safe medium with some but minimal spotlights

my guess is handset component shortages are persistent, workable, margins not offset by volume rampups, but ALL else is a locomotive on track

my 2 cents, jim willie

I think you are stretching this one to the hilt. It makes sense to me based on the scheduling, besides does Qualcomm have to make an announcement to us or to Cowen? How do you know they didn't do that? All that was published in the @$$R%&$ said they cancelled. Did you ever cancel a visit and forget to call you inlaws?

gc, a few days ago you posted that you were withdrawing from playing the Bear on this thread except to respond to posts directed at you. Yet you showed up today to gloat. Your behavior is unseemly for someone of supposedly distinguished educational and industry accomplishments. Your credibility is at great risk.

From another source:
"Hambrecht & Quist does a good job on a number of companies but qcom is not one of them. They have been out of phase with qualcomm forever. I talked this afternoon with a broker at a major house whose analyst had actually talked with QCOM's COO(the presenter) and he came away feeling it was really just a scheduling foul-up that had not been handled well by qualcomm and pointed out that this wednesday's analyst meeting was scheduled by qcom, their first ever for the New York analyst coommunity and that he was confident they have lots good to say with some gee-whiz stuff to show. It sounds reasonable to me. Taking a few steps away from the madness of Wall Street and the trading floors I can envision the folks at qualcomm messing up on the scheduling. This is first and foremost a messianic company out to change the world as we and they no it. Theirs is a technology and telecosmic centric world not a stock market centric world. Messianic folks can sometimes rub sensitive people like wall street analysts the wrong way. So follow the investment rules, "Be fearful when every one else is greedy and greedy when everybody else is scared out of their wits. And be hard nosed when wall street analysts are having their feelings hurt." --amf"
