Jim Willie-I agree, looks to me as if QCOM is focusing on their upcoming conference and were forced to pass on their commitments for today. That is always difficult to handle, as it never "looks good."

Let the chips fall as they may.

JW: about the optimistic Irishman, sans Guinness, being a rarity...
well, when I visited the Auld Sod, I was informed that other European countries had significantly higher rates of alcohol abuse/dependancy than the Irish; so there are more of us that are optimistic and sober than the stereotype would suggest.
As far as optimism about the Q; I believe that there will be a resurgence of good feeling regarding the prospects for this gorilla very soon; plenty soon enough for me, as my horizon would be reflected by my purchase, today, of year 2001 leaps.
BTW: I very much enjoy your technical analysis posts; even though, like today, the old saw "news overrides technicals" would seem to apply, even though the "news" emphasized lately isn't really news at all, to investors in QCOM.
Regards
James
