Whatever the information to be dispensed at the analysts' conference, we ought to be there. That way we can make our on interpretation.

I've just sent a note to Q asking for a live web cast (of IJ remarks at a minimum).

If any others want to chime in the address is www-ir@qualcomm.com

Aloha

>>(PS: Full disclosure - took today as an opportunity for some tax positioning...sold most Q shares in my non-retirement account, then bought immediately into equivalent position in deep-in-the-money Jan2001 LEAPS calls. <<

Why pay the tax?

(OT) Island to extend trading hours by nearly 3 hours beginning September 15th (this Wednesday)

Looks like our stock-watching fun is, after many false starts, finally going to get a bit lengthier:

Island, majority owned by No. 4 Internet broker Datek Online Holdings Inc., said in a statement it would
start offering trading from 8 a.m. EDT (1200 GMT) to 8 p.m. EDT (0000 GMT) on Sept. 15...

"This could be very negative ....
"But he also pointed to a 'bull side of the story'"

This sounds like an old fashioned "two handed" story. You know, "on the one hand the Dow may hit 40,000, but on the other hand it could hit 100."

If you cover all possible outcomes how can you possibility go wrong? But if there's no possibility of being wrong your not really taking a stand. I've found that such arguments usually are a sure sign the speaker knows nothing significant about the subject.
