Well, HDD is down today, so DSS is up.

Actually, I don't think one has much to do with the other. They are now in different investing universes. HDD happens to be cheap, even for a drive stock, especially for a drive stock which is at least currently well positioned. However, it is still a drive stock, and that isn't especially a good thing to be right now. DSS is coming into an uncertain period, more uncertain than usual because of the SDLT/LTO/M2 transition issues. Plus I suspect no one quite knows what to make of Meridian and the NAS market: it appears to be fraught with potential--positives and pitfalls alike.
