Steve, many thanks for posting the article from SJ Mercury News. I had posted the URL for that piece this morning and I am assuming that Vendit and Rocketman, who have responded since my post, have read the article at SJ Mercury,s web site.

However these two folks have been afflicted with "AOL bias" (LOL; what else is new)

This post is addressed to the AOL doom and gloom sayers, who have blanketed this thread. Have you folks read that article and what do you think? Do you agree that "If you pay nothing for your Internet access, then you get nothing from your Internet access". It is one thing to have a desire to make money by shorting a stock. But I would not do that if I have to go on a message board and advocate shorting a wrong stock such as AOL.

After all folks, Microsoft is not that big of an idiot. They may threaten free Internet access, and that is as far as they would go. To the short advocates on this thread, I suggest that you take a cue from Microsoft. Doing so would limit your foray into the domain of lunacy.

So let us take up this discussion in light of the SJ Mercury piece and also the piece about AOL on Motley Fool.
