08:08 ET General Instrument (GIC) 49 11/16: CSFB thinks that the potential MOT combination will likely be announced during next several days; estimated purchase price of $10 billion appears reasonable; assign low probability to a large purchase premium; could place pressure on LU to improve position in cable in near-term as existing LU/MOT alliance in cable is likely to be de-emphasized; believes LU focus would be centered on systems electronics NOT on set top converters; CSCO and NT already well positioned with current cable businesses; could also pressure SFA to formally align with a larger company - assign highest probability to a consumer electronics supplier.

Sam - Where's SFA heading near-term? I'm eyeing GBLX and thinking about taking my profits in SFA and acquiring more GBLX.
