Keep in mind, Akula, biblical scholars have determined much of the bible was written in code and parables, as when it was written it was during a time when Christians were being persecuted. It wasn't until Charlemagne that the Christian persecution was reprieved. To have actively written "The Word of God" was punishable by death. To address something others are touching upon, yes, there was later corruption in the church, as their faith gave way to their human desires. And what better way to gain personal power than to exploit one's position as a religious leader? Heck, just look at the televangelists. Does this mean the religion itself is corrupt? We're better believing in a secular origin of the species? I personally do not believe so. After all, the secular view is also commonly held by communistic states. So state all the wacky religious leaders you want. There've been plenty of secular bad guys and girls out there too. It's a human trait, not a divine or secular one.
