There are a few other natural deterrents. Camphor flakes can do wonders, as can a liberal dusting of one's garden with powdered red pepper. I am very tired, so the mind is not fully in gear. Hit me again with the problem and I may have better suggestions when I am more awake. BTW, for plants that are not subject to tobacco mosaic virus--such as tomatoes and potatoes--soaking a cigarette overnight in a gallon of water and then "washing" the garden can work wonders....
