I agree with your point regarding the fact that this is still extremely early in Ampex's new life cycle. Much work needs to be done, including proving that they can attract viewers and produce results for advertisers.

One difference that I'd like to point out with Ampex's approach is the heavy reliance on advertising and marketing guys (rather than gen-x guys). To me this is an immense positive of Ampex. Ampex is taking the approach that they want to produce profits, and they want programs that attract viewers, but also programs that attract ad revenues and produce results for advertisers. This is not typical of internet companies today, however; companies tend to figure that if they can attract visitors to their site that in and of itself is sufficient and that profits and revenues will magically follow. Such profits may or may not follow for these companies, and if they don't, their stock prices will collapse.

<< , it is clear to me that, for many, this build will not be in a time frame sufficient for their investment return. >>

I would tend to agree, Ed. This remains, once again,a very interesting and perhaps richly rewarding long ( if they survive they probably prosper). I know it gets extremely tiresome for AXC long timers to hear stuff like that - but this is in fact a start up now ..the story really is a very different one....brand spanking new ( mainly spanking us right now).

Unfortunately..and just speaking personally-nobody's fault but my own for painting myself in an investing corner ... I do not have the 2 or three years it may take for Ampex to really take off. Have no interest in selling now - would buy a bit more if the decline from here is steep enough....but will have to get extremely lucky for the many years of holding Ampex to prove at all worthwhile for me before I have to sell. May turn out to be a doozie of a blunder, but it surely will not be my last.
