Uncle Franq;

You may be right. After all what has most of the roller coaster this summer been about?:

1) Q makes secondary offering at time of induction into S&P - raises the 1.2 B - stock drops

2) Q stages conference this Wednesday after mild warning re handset sales. I doubt if the conference is about handset sales.

If there is something big coming up an acquisition seems to make the most sense, the time-line is right (and the timing for Palm is also just right). If they were to acquire Palm, what would be the long term impact on the bottom line?

How about Q sells the handset division to E for billions, and then turns around and buys the Palm Pilot division from 3comm.

Frank,

I'll bet the Palm Pilot division/spinoff is in play, but not the Q's handset operation. Will you share the prize?

Kelly

Don't dig? 3Com announced this evening it is spinning off Palm Division. Reported on Bloomberg.
