Bad news for Roth if [federal sales tax] passed.

Also bad news for all other monies that have already been
federal-income-taxed and that we hold in ordinary savings
accounts, checking accounts, etc. Those monies, when spent,
would be subject to the federal sales tax, thus resulting
in a double taxation.

Whenever the FairTax organization and congressmen promoting
the new federal sales tax are asked about the unfairness of
the double tax, they seem to refuse to deal with it directly.
Instead, they launch into a list of all the benefits of the
new tax and tell us we should go along with it "for the good
of our grandchildren" and so forth.

I'm in favor of replacing the federal income tax with a
federal sales tax, but only if the double tax is dealt with
and removed.

Just my opinion.
