I note with interest that among the 25 metro areas to be covered by QWEST, not one of them is in the traditional area served by US West.

And none in areas served by BellSouth.

It will be interesting to see how this merger is handled in the FCC. It's more complex, in some ways, than the mergers of RBOCs since it combines two different businesses.
