CNBC says Q said it will sell the handset business by the end of the year and will have a conf call today.

Just announced on CNBC: QCOM will sell its handset division by the end of the year and concentrate on chips and integrated circuits. Stock up sharply. Looks like they decided not to be the largest maker of computers [handheld] in a few years.

To those who predicted this: you were correct.
To those who thought it would be a mistake: am interested in your take now that it looks like a done deal.

One other thing - it looks like the handset division might just be more of a drag on this quarters earnings than we may have thought.

Eudora for the Palm Computing Platform

QUALCOMM's new pdQsuite Eudora e-mail application allows users to receive, read, compose, send and manage e-mail on
any Palm Computing platform device. The application also offers advanced sorting, filtering, filing, download control, reply and
address book lookup features. The new application supports various Internet protocols including POP3 and SMTP as well as
