One of the misconceptions stated repeatedly concerns a shallow assumption regarding the perceived motives for not converting. The misconception is that if CC does not convert it means that they will "carry out "another" death spiral attack." First of all, they may not have "carried out" a first "attack," although the image fits nicely for the "circle the wagon" mentality that inexplicably pervades this thread. Second, they may not ever "launch" "an attack." I don't think that is CC's strategy at all. This misconception suggests they will drive down the price by sheer artifice in a sort of game of will. This is flat out wrong.

A decision not to convert likely is a decision that VLNC may eventually fall under its own weight - imagine a house of cards ; ) - for lack of commercial success and thin pockets.

They hold a pretty neat instrument. It is a combo call and put option.
