CNBC this AM. They just said 3Com has been downgraded by JP Morgan due to the Palm Pilot spin off. Thought you'd want to know

Not in the near term it is not great news. Message 11250231 The pedigree of the founders alone should somewhat overshadow Palm for a bit, despite the licensing of the OS, which is a small source of very profitable revenue for COMS. What is really interesting about the IPO of Palm is that it should deal with the issue of employee retention, which had become a problem for the company with the many startups around--options. [Edit: I agree that Palm has shown its strength already vs. MSFT's CE. Also it will be very difficult to match Palm's terrific distribution.]
