summary from www.thestreet.com :

Meanwhile, China.com (CHINA:Nasdaq) investors are nervously watching the latest development in the always tense relationship between the Chinese government and the Internet. Information Minister Wu Jichuan said that China's current policy does not allow foreign investment in Chinese Internet businesses, and that it "will correct these irregularities." It's not clear what form the government's "corrections" will take or how they will affect companies like China.com, which is part-owned by America Online (AOL:NYSE) and was publicly floated on the Nasdaq Stock Market in mid-July.

I must be the only one left after today who thinks CHINA will rebound. As I see it, the knock on China.com was that it was too closely tied to the government to appeal to Chinese youth. If the government is going to limit foreign influence in Chinese internet companies, then China.com with its backing by the Chinese government can only benefit. I also suspect that AOL, which seems to believe in the same sort of tight control over content as the Chinese, may be able to work something out.
