Hi Clark..

BAM is selling the ThinP for 249$ WITH a contract, 400 + without. NO rebate.

Interestingly, Startac is also about 250$. I wonder who's providing the big subsidy on that one?

Best..DMG

I believe the ASP for handsets is now very close to $200 based on the replacement values that ATI and PCS charge their customers to replace their phones. The single mode 1960 costs $99 and the dual mode 860 costs $300. The introduction of the dual mode PCS phone next quarter should improve the ASP next quarter.

Rebates are handled by the service providers, not the phone manufacturers. They are an incentive for new customers to activate service - not to buy phones.
