One would have to first explain or define what is meant by "the market." Where does it begin and end, as far as LUMM's line is concerned. Is he talking about the entirety of optical systems? Then 1% would be a significant number in the future. Or is he referring to 1% of the DWDM-on-a-chip space? I would tend to think he means the former, and not the latter. Anyway, such a prediction is way too arbitrary one way or the other at this point.

Dan, here's my take on the Najafi article:

In French:

M. Najafi considere que Lumenon ne pourra jamais obtenir plus de 1% d'un tel marche, ce qui n'en demeure pas moins un scenario stimulant avec des clients potentiels comme AT&T, Alcatel Teleglobe, etc.

My translation:

Mr Najafi considers that Lumenon will never be able to obtain more than 1% of that market(the DWDM market mentioned in the previous paragraph!!)which remains nevertheless a stimulating scenario with potential clients like AT&T, Alcatel, Teleglobe, etc.

Hope this helps clarify the situation.

Cheers,

Don
