I agree totally with what you say.

The trouble is that if you're in the market at all you get sucked along into the whirlpool whether you like it or not and thus are subject to that risk.

The other thing that bothers me is that many of the folks who spend every dime they have because they think they are wealthy are basing their perception on Stock valuatins and debt load (i.e. how much they can afford to pay out each month) Good time to be totally out of debt IMHO.
I still remember very clearly 1982 and can assure you that bankers under pressure don't make any wiser decisions than the rest of us.
