The Libertarian Position.
1. There should be NO public schools. Education is NOT a taxpayer function.
Therefore:
Since schools would then all be private....they can teach whatever the parents deem appropriate for their child.
Some children would be learning the evidences of evolution.
Some children would be learning the evidences (my neighbor says there are some) of creationism.
They could argue about it later, I guess.
2. All sorts of interesting private schools would flow from number 1....who knows some kind charitable people would probably set up "free" schools which would teach what that charitable group wished the children to learn.
If there are public schools, is there a libertarian position about what should be taught in them?
Well, since they shouldnt exist, probably not, but I'd guess and say Free Markets, Responsibility for yourself, Capitalism, Entreprenaurship.
