Doug:

IMON What's your take on the trading action today and the gap up. A ton of volume. Most indicators went up EXCEPT for AD. Got lucky and got in yesterday.

Doug:

Thanks for the S&P monthly outlook (and all the other good stuff from Orlando and Seattle seminars). It's funny that after all this time in the closet, just as I put on my new mask and decide to come out to join the party, everybody's going to a new place to chat! Now I'll need to PM milesov to see if I can get an invitation.

Thanks for the scans, bdog, and I will be PMing David J re spoos. Looking forward to connecting with BLT, flounder, Bruce L., Alski, Wart and the gang.

Hopefully I can contribute some useful insights on the overall markets from my usual work as time is very limited just now.

FWIW, this week is option/futures expiration; equity averages are hostage to sick looking bond market so keep an eye on TYX index (long bond interest). Expiration swings plus possible number shocks (CPI on Wed, Production/CapUtil on Thurs) = volatile next two days.

Bob B.

Doug R,

From your post of Tuesday, Sep 14 1999 4:11PM ET Reply # of 32322

<<..The current progression through the series is typical of a correction building.
A poor day tomorrow and I'll be out of the S&P for Oct>>

The S&P WAS down big the next day (by 1.5%). Since then, the
S&P declined from 131.98 to 124.87, a decline of 5.39% in 1 month.

I am curious if you heeded your own advice and have been out
of the S&P thru October?
